Psychic Medium in Metro Detroit

I’m Shannon Faye, a psychic medium in Metro Detroit.

I offer evidential mediumship readings in person in Michigan and online via Zoom.

A lot of the people who find me have never been to a medium before. Some have. Some already believe in life after death. Some have absolutely no idea what they believe and are just curious.

All are welcome.

I believe our connection to the people we love doesn't end when they die. And I believe mediumship is one way we get to experience that for ourselves.

The evidence matters to me. Memories, personalities, relationships and sometimes really random details that mean absolutely nothing to me but everything to the person sitting across from me.

That's how we figure out who's here.

But once we know who's here, I want to know what they want you to know.

I think that part matters even more.

How I got here

I am pretty down-to-earth and light-hearted. I am sarcastic and occasionally quite funny. I am team glass is half full.

I should also tell you that I was once told I was royalty in a past life, and I believe that has finally solved the mystery of why I can never finish a load of laundry.

I've always been interested in Spirit and honestly thought everyone else was too.

When I lived in California, I dabbled in meditation, owned my fair share of crystals, took metaphysical workshops and classes and dipped my toe into mediumship.

Then I had two kids, moved back to Michigan and let mom duties drive the bus for a while. All of my woo-woo stuff took a back seat.

Fast forward a few years. I was happily working as a real-estate photographer when I started becoming aware of homeowners who had died.

Which, as you can imagine, was a little distracting while I was trying to photograph people's kitchens.

It also got my attention.

I felt a pretty constant pull to get back to this part of myself, so I started studying mediumship more seriously.

And here we are.

How I work

One of the biggest things I've learned is that mediumship requires a lot of surrender and vulnerability.

I can't control who comes through. I can't decide what they're going to talk about. And I don't believe my job is to force a reading in the direction I think it should go.

When I'm doing a reading, I am working in service to Spirit.

My job is to listen, communicate what I'm receiving as accurately as I can without ego getting involved, and allow Spirit to lead the conversation.

That's also why evidence is so important to me. I want you to be able to recognize the person I'm connecting with before we move into what they want to say.

Evidence. Connection. Message. Meaning.

And sometimes the message isn't what either of us expected.

You don't need me to do this

This is also really important to me.

I don't believe mediums have some special access to Spirit that everyone else was left out of.

You have intuition. You may already notice signs, feelings, dreams, coincidences or moments when you just know something.

Part of my work has become helping people understand those experiences and trust themselves more.

You don't need to become a medium. You don't even need to call yourself intuitive.

I just want people to understand that connection isn't something another person has to give you access to.

My training

I am certified as an Intuitive Practitioner, having studied with Shamanic Medium, Author and Spiritual Teacher Lori Lipten. I have completed several courses through The Arthur Findlay College, the World's Foremost College for the Advancement of Spiritualism and Psychic Sciences. I've also studied with Evidential Mediums Mavis Pittilla, Andy Byng and Suzanne Giesemann and completed mediumship certification through James Van Praagh's School of Mystical Arts. I am constantly learning and researching. I love talking about mediumship and intuition with anyone who is willing to listen.

I take the work seriously.

I just don't think I have to take myself seriously all the time ;)

What to expect in a reading

You don't need to prepare anything.

You don't need a list of questions. You don't need to give me information ahead of time. Please don’t! And you definitely don't need to know how mediumship works.

We'll talk for a few minutes, I'll explain what I'm doing, and then we'll see who shows up. Easy Peasy.

I may ask whether something makes sense, sometimes it will and sometimes you won’t know. Sometimes there are quiet moments while I'm listening and sorting through what I'm getting. That's completely fine too.

I don't predict the future or diagnose medical conditions, and I can't guarantee who will come through.

I also won't pretend I'm getting a connection when I'm not.

If the connection isn't strong enough for me to continue the reading, I'll tell you. That's important to me.

My practice is built on authenticity and ethics.

Mediumship can be weird. It's vulnerable. I still don't have all the answers, and I don't pretend to.

But after years of doing this, I have a whole lot more questions about life, death, consciousness and connection than I did when I started and I think that’s the point.

And I happen to really love talking about all of it.
