Everyone always asks:
What is the Difference Between a Psychic and a Medium?
People use the words “psychic” and “medium” interchangeably all the time. They are related, but they are not exactly the same thing.
The simplest way I explain it is this:
A psychic is working living soul to living soul—tuning into you, your life, your relationships, emotions, patterns, and potential.
A medium is working living soul to a soul that has passed—bringing through information, personality, memories, and messages from loved ones in spirit.
Some people do one or the other. I do both.
What does a psychic do?
Psychic information is typically centered on your life right now. It may involve relationships, work, decisions, emotions, or areas where you feel stuck.
It is not about someone taking over your life or handing you a script for your future. You are still the person with free will and the ability to choose what is right for you.
What does an evidential medium do?
An evidential medium connects with loved ones who have passed and brings through information that helps you recognize them.
That may be a personality trait, nickname, memory, relationship dynamic, meaningful object, inside joke, or simply the exact way they made you feel.
The goal is not vague statements that could fit anyone. It is that moment where something lands and you think, “Okay. That is absolutely them.”
What does “evidential” mean in mediumship?
“Evidential” means the reading includes recognizable details.
The evidence helps build trust in the connection before we move into the deeper message. It is not about proving anything to anyone or putting spirit on demand. A medium cannot—and should not—guarantee exactly who will come through or what information will be shared.
For me, the most meaningful readings are often not dramatic at all. They are personal, funny, emotional, specific, and surprisingly normal. You recognize the presence and personality of your loved one.
Can a reading include both psychic insight and mediumship?
Yes. In many sessions, we do both.
Sometimes a loved one in spirit comes through first. Sometimes we begin by tuning into what is happening in your own life. Sometimes the two naturally overlap.
Every reading unfolds a little differently, but the goal is the same: clarity, connection, and information that is meaningful to you.
What should I consider when choosing a psychic medium for a reading?
Look for someone who feels clear, grounded, and respectful.
A reputable medium should explain their process, have real reviews or testimonials, respect your privacy, and be honest about what they can and cannot promise.
You should never be pressured, frightened, or told you need to keep paying someone to prevent something bad from happening.
You do not need a list of perfect questions. You just need to be open to the process.
How can I find a reputable evidential medium in Metro Detroit?
Look for a medium with a clear website, consistent information, real client experiences, and an approach that feels like a fit for you.
Read how they talk about their work. Do they have boundaries? Do they explain what a session is like? Do they feel like a real human you would be comfortable sitting with and chatting about life for an hour?
Those things matter.
